First Induction

This thing does some magic where your pots get hot directly, not by heating a surface under them or by shooting flames up their bottoms, but by having eddy currents generated within the pot metal by some awesome voodoo... it's cool stuff. The problem is that not all pots will heat up, since they have be magnetizable. I could only use 2 of the pots I had, but that is not a negative as this is part of getting an induction cooktop.So far I really like it. It is impressive how quickly thing heat up, or cool down. There is a little noise generated by the vibrations of the cookware, but nothing that bothers me. One thing I do not know, is how long this cooktop will last. I did not get the extended warranty yet, so if if fails within the first 5 years, make sure to look at other review sites as I am sure Frigidaire will not let me correct this 5 star general.One silly thing about this pretty expensive device, though, it comes with the fixing hardware for Formica counter tops... how many people buy a $1000 cooktop and don't have stone? Some people have been upset by this and by having to buy the (apparently expensive) hardware for stone. Don't be dumb, just flip the hardware upside down and you can use it with whatever counter top ... just be careful to measure well.

Easy to install, just resized the cabinet opening and wired it in.The speed of cooking is really amazing, it will boil water in under 2 minutes. The speed of adjusting the cooking temperature is instantaneous. The unit is very quiet and only makes a tiny noise, when using the power setting.If it proves to be reliable, we will be happy campers.

We did a kitchen remodel which took almost 3 months. We finally got the appliances installed and on my third time cooking on the induction cooktop it stopped working. Check my breaker which was fine, electricity was getting to it it just wasn™€™t turning on. It was brand new from Lowes and they told me to call the warranty number to get it fixed. They sent a guy out the following week and he said he needed to order parts. The following week they called to say the parts are in but they can™€™t service it until the next week. So here I am three weeks later in my brand new kitchen and my brand new appliances and one of them breaks before I can enjoying cooking after eating out for 3 months!!! Very disappointed.

This stove is very stylish and well laid out. Scrambled eggs in a minute, no kidding. Boils water very quickly. So far so good. Buttons will beep accidentally when things are laid on top of stove, but other than that no issues.

Terrible warranty service

Had the cooktop 3 months, and it is broken now, trying to get warranty claim and been waiting 3 weeks, technician have brought the wrong parts. Parts take ™€œ7 to 10 days™€ and I never hear from the with any progress. I still do not have a working cooktop. I could buy the part and fix it myself in 3 days, but then what™€™s the purpose of the warranty...I wish FRIGIDAIRE could just send me the part instead of send a technician with the wrong parts.

Having previously owned an induction cooktop, this is a very nice unit with a very low, clean looking profile. The unit seems to be more powerful with finer burner control when simmering. Comparing this unit to the replaced10 year old induction cooktop that failed after an electrical brownout, it just seems more refined with really nice touch controls. I really like it.

Beautiful but Scary Fragile

I was foolish and chipped the thin edge of the all-glass top when I accidentally hit the edge of when I was pounding two ice bags on the counter to separate them. The chip was ugly and a crack propogated all the way across the top. That top has all the controls so the repair was two-thirds the cost of a new unit. Now I notice that the top has a slight jiggle due to either it or the counter top cutout not being perfectly level. I™€™m terrified that it will break again. I™€™m surprised that the timer can™€™t be used to turn off the stove or one element.

This Frigidaire unit has all the necessary features, and a couple of safety features not included on the range. We just remodeled our kitchen and chose this induction cooktop. I™€™ve been using it for a month and just love it! Easy to use with any induction cookware (if a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan it will work with induction). Boils water in under 2 minutes. Melts Chocolate flawlessly. No more burned scrambled eggs in my house !! Timer is a little tricky to turn off. Read the instructions. Does make a slight electric crackling sound when on Power boil but that™€™s just how the technology works. So cool!!

Fragile top

Despite being extremely careful while placing pots and pans, all it needed was a small glass bottle to break it.See the picture attached. I mistakenly knocked the oil dispenser bottle. It fell over the cooktop and the edge broke and also cracked the top.Call it hard luck or bad design.in hindsight, a steal plate around the margin is a good idea to shield from petty incidents such as above.Also a metal plate would fit more snug with counter top and prevent from any spillage from falling down in the cabinets below.Our unit is within warranty.

Have used it about 1 month now and so far it™€™s excellent. Exactly as described. Only minor thing I saw is that it is a little bowed on the sides and so it does not sit completely flat on my counter. ( yes my counter top is not the issue) I don™€™t know if this is normal or deflect from factory. However not enough bothersome as to return it. Functionality is perfect and looks very good as it has a clean line.

Worst decision I've ever made

Purchased the induction stovetop and had 4 service calls to rebuild it. I was clearly sold faulty equipment. The service tech gave me an invoice of the repairs. It cost Frigidaire double the price I paid for it to rebuild it. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Had family in for holiday from the Northeast....stovetop not working. Holidays ruined thanks to Frigidaire. No one cared. Will never purchase a product from this company again. Epic failure.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2014. I wanted the open concept which meant I would be losing my gas appliances. So, I researched for months. Decided on this frigidaire. I love how easy and faster it is to cook. Clean up is so much better than trying to clean and lift those grills. I especially love the push button operation. NO knobs to clean, I have a 7' x 4' island and just love the sleek look.

I'm too satisfied of induction cooktop

I've been using it for a month so far. Works great. Makes a little buzz sound on high power but it does not bother me at all. Makes water boiling very fast. Does not make heat so your kitchen does not get warm. So easy to clean it up if compare to electrical one.

Great cooktop / unreliable junk

We bought this almost 3 years ago and have used it for almost 2 years (it took us 1 year to fix the house before we moved in). This cooktop is AMAZING...when it worked. THE GREAT: Fast to heat, consistent temperatures, well designed layout - especially with the large burner in the front, not the rear (why anyone would want the most used burner, the large one, in the rear is beyond me).The BAD: it has died 3 times on us with the dreaded C23 error. This last time when Sears called Frigidaire tech support he was told that it is a known issue and that replacing the generator boards might not fix the issue, nor should it be considered a permanent fix. WHAT ??? Really? Over $500 repair and being told that it is a known issue and might happen again? Oh no...Frigidaire, you must be joking! If this is a known issue, take better care of your customers.So after these 3 unsuccessful repairs, SquareTrade (awesome warranty!!!) gave us back 100% of the purchase price and told us to go buy a new cooktop. Believe it or not, we are seriously looking at another Frigidaire. Yes, when it worked it worked that well that I am considering purchasing another Frigidaire with the hope that they have fixed these issues and this new one will work better...ugh.

Easy to clean

The layout for the burners are great. My previous cook top had both small burners in the back. This one has one small and one large in front and back. Also easier to clean because there is no frame around it. It worked great for about a week. Then one side just stopped working. Frigidaire took care of it quickly.

Several years ago we remodeled our kitchen in our previous house and we installed an induction cooktop. I loved cooking on an induction cooktop. When we moved into this new home it had only an electric cooktop and I fussed every time I cooked. We made the decision to get an induction cooktop and selected the Frigidaire model based on reviews and price. Couldn't be happier. It was very easy installation, by husband installed it..

We love our cooktop. It is so efficient. You can boil water almost immediately. The stovetop is easy to clean. We did have to buy new pots and pans but that was not too expensive. A wise choice I our opinion.
